ABOUT ARTIST

French artist, former student of the Decorative Arts of Paris, founder of Dark Impressionism, an art movement that seeks to rediscover the essence of art as a vector of spirituality and the search for the sacred, here in painting as a future echo of Impressionism inscribed in the continuity of art history, successor and synthesis of Monet, De Staël, Soulages, where abstraction returns to figuration, nourished by its ethereal, post-apocalyptic, post-civilization dimension. It is an Impressionism of silence, where blacks are shadows, and shadows are silences. The paintings are windows that carry us towards a fleeting moment of escape, this forgetfulness of self, this transport that manifests itself in the observer faced with the painting that attempts to evoke an elsewhere, a memory of a foreign memory, a presence, a shore, a mirage, a mist of the ages, where time disappears, where I become the traveller of an elsewhere, far away.

Born in Paris in 1980, where after studying music, drawing and then writing manifested themselves. Literature of wandering and inner journey, which found its pictorial expression in the late 90s. Arche held his first exhibition in 1998 with a series of 12 large-format oil paintings on wood, before escaping into Hidden Art, far from institutions and art circuits, to devote himself to the study and research of philosophy, history of civilizations, Christian theology and Zen. He worked in various fields of graphic arts, graphic novels, photography, fashion, art curation publishing, before moving in South Korea in 2017 to escape to the shores that stand in harmony with his artistic and spiritual believes. The Shores of Korea, heart of Far Eastern philosophies. It was from then on that he decided to present his painting work again. First with an invitation at the Daegu Art Fair, then in solo exhibitions in Seoul and Busan. He also presented media art installations at the Park Seo Bo Foundation in 2022 during the first Art FRIEZE in Seoul.

Here, under the patronage of his graphic art studio LES MACHINES NOIRES, he combines his graphic novel work, sculpture, and painting for the first time.
