‘황금큐브 작가’ “변하지 않는 영원함. 생명의 빛으로 흐르다.”
금(Gold), 자개(Mother of pearl) 빛을 불멸의 영원한 생명의 빛으로 만드는 황금의 연금술사. 서
로를 비추고 확대되어 ‘성장’을 이야기하다.

일본 유학 시절 순금 금박에 깊이 매료되었다는 채은미 작가는 금(Gold)과 자개(Mother of
pearl)를 새롭게 수용해 독창적인 기법으로 간결하면서도 세련된 현대적 조형성을 보여준다.

금박과 자개를 주요 작품 재료로 사용하는 채은미 작가는 금색 큐브의 연속적인 형태로 전하는 금
빛의 시각적인 울림으로 공간을 사유의 시간으로 채운다. 순금 금박을 통한 강렬한 색면들은 다양
한 각도로 반사되며(Reflection) 금빛으로 일렁이며 작품을 둘러싼 공간의 분위기를 고조시킨다.

여러 겹의 금박과 큐브를 무수히 반복하여 덧붙이는 작가의 작업은 오랜 시간의 과정이 필요하며
이는 수행과 닮아있다.

골드큐브와 바탕의 color 또는 이미지가 서로 충돌하면서 만들어내는 리플렉션은 앵글과 관계없이
신체적 감각의 충돌을 일으킨다. 섬세한 자개 파편이 주는 아련함은 그 충돌을 확장한다. 그 작품
전체를 부여안고 있는 측면골드는 무한한 섀도우 속에서 바깥으로 팽창을 계속해 나가는 것이다.

During her studies in Japan, Cha Eun-mi became deeply fascinated with pure gold leaf. She incorporates gold and mother-of-pearl in innovative ways, showcasing a unique technique 
that blends simplicity with refined modern aesthetics.
Using gold leaf and mother-of-pearl as her primary materials, Eunmi Chae fills spaces with a contemplative atmosphere through the visual resonance of her golden cubes. The intense color fields created by the pure gold leaf reflect light from various angles, heightening the ambiance of the surrounding space with shimmering gold tones. Her process, which involves repeatedly layering gold leaf and assembling cubes, requires a significant amount of time and resembles a meditative practice.

The reflection created by the collision of gold cubes with the underlying color or image induces a physical sensoryimpact,regardlessoftheviewingangle.Thedelicatefragmentsof
mother-of-pearl evoke a poignant subtlety that amplifies this impact. The side gold, enveloping the entire piece, continues to expand outward from within infinite shadows.
